BeeDay Privacy Policy

Effective date July 13, 2026

BeeDay is a lightweight, ad-free birthday reminder app, and part of the Created by Bee family. It's built to keep the birthdays you care about close at hand — and to keep those details private. This policy explains exactly what data BeeDay involves, where it lives, and the choices you have. It's specific to BeeDay and adds detail to our general Created by Bee Privacy Policy.

Your birthdays and where they're stored

The birthdays you add — names, dates, and whether a date is lunar or solar — are stored in your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, with a copy cached locally on your device so the app keeps working offline.

Because this information lives in your personal iCloud database, we, the developer, cannot read its contents. Your birthdays sync privately across your own devices through your Apple ID; they are never routed through a server we can see.

Importing from Contacts

Importing birthdays from your phone's contacts is entirely optional. BeeDay only reads your contacts if you tap Import from Contacts and grant permission, and it does so on your device only. Your contacts are never uploaded to us or to any third party.

Reminders and notifications

Birthday reminders are local notifications, created and scheduled on your device. No data is sent to a server to deliver them. BeeDay never sends marketing or promotional notifications — only the birthday reminders you set up.

Friend-collection links & Cloudflare

BeeDay lets you create a shareable link so friends can add their own name and birthday through a simple web form, so you don't have to type them in yourself. Here is exactly how that data travels:

  • When a friend submits the form, their name and birthday are transmitted through and temporarily stored on Cloudflare, our hosting and infrastructure provider, using Cloudflare Workers and KV storage.
  • This is only a waystation. The submission stays there just long enough to be delivered to your device, after which it lives in your private iCloud like any other birthday.
  • To route submissions to the right place, a per-user link identifier — think of it as a private mailbox address — is stored in your own iCloud key-value store.

Friend-submitted data is used for one thing only: delivering that birthday to you. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used for any other purpose.

What we don't do

BeeDay contains no advertising, no third-party tracking, and no analytics SDKs. We do not sell or share your personal data, and the app does not track you across other apps or websites.

Data retention & deletion

You stay in control of your data:

  • You can delete any birthday inside the app at any time, which removes it from your iCloud and from your device.
  • Friend-submitted data is transient — it is removed after it has been delivered to your device.

Because your birthdays live in your own private iCloud, they remain under your control through your Apple ID.

Children's privacy

BeeDay is a general-audience app. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.
